Anderson O'Brien Fine Art presents Sharon Booma
"The Writing's on the Wall"
Exhibition Ends Sunday, May 22
Exhibiting work since 1986, her complex paintings have been in several museum invitationals and earned special recognition by leading art journals nationwide. Abstract artist, Sharon Booma, has exhibited her unique and widely acclaimed art throughout North America and Europe.
Sharon Booma lived in Omaha from 1995-2000 and enjoyed getting to know the people, the community and its positive and generous outlook. Attracted to grittier parts of the city, Booma was happy to find an old hardware store in downtown Omaha full of old nuts and bolts and all sorts of treasures that ultimately ended up being part of her art. he “Writing’s on the Wall” was influenced by the development of new ideas on her canvases. The numbers featured in the paintings are a universal language and also a definitive statement, which grounds the more elusive areas of the canvas. Booma explains, “When I start a piece, I may have an intention of where I think the work should go, but often arrive somewhere I hadn’t imagined.”
