Old Market Passageway Gallery is a cooperative gallery established in 1981 giving local artists a place to show and sell their fine art at reasonable prices.

The Galleries location is in the historic Poppleton Block, built in 1886 by Andrew Poppleton. The Poppleton Block was designated an Omaha Landmark in 1982, and is listed on the National Register of Historical Places.  Andrew Jackson Poppleton (1830-1896) was the second mayor of Omaha, in office for a few months from July to September of 1858.  After his stint as mayor, Poppleton was a prominent real estate businessman and lawyer.  Poppleton Street in Omaha is named after the former mayor.

The gallery operates
completely through the volunteer efforts of the artists whose work is on display.  Every artist member spends 2 - 4 shifts each month greeting visitors, handling sales functions and performing duties necessary to the successful operation of the gallery.  Each visitor is able to visit with an actual artist member of the gallery.  Membership is held to a total of 22 artists, providing a blend of two dimension and three dimensional art that is sure to please many different artistic tastes.

The Passageway is a very active participant in the Old Market Gallery Walks held once a month in the summer and spring. First Friday openings each month feature one or two gallery member's works, accompanied by hors d'oeuvres and refreshments.
Gallery Walks and First Fridays are free and open to the public

Plan to visit often; new artwork is presented by artists on a frequent basis.

"Our gallery is filled with unique works of art not found elsewhere."

See the "Artists" section of the website for list of the gallery artists. The gallery features a diverse collection of work, including original paintings, photography, collage and folk art, fine woodworking, functional ceramics, sculpture, fused glass and jewelry. The gallery is located in the lower level of the Passageway, in Omaha's Old Market District, across the hall from Trini's Restaurant.

The gallery holds "First Friday" receptions, which are open to the public, the first Friday of each month, from 6 to 9pm. MMG Designs
After years of successful jewelry design and repair of vintage pieces, I fell in love with the art of free form wire design and silversmithing. I combine these metal techniques with vintage beads and cabochons, fused glass and natural stones. I work in sterling silver, fine silver, rolled gold, gold and copper. Many of my designs are one of a kind. I welcome custom orders and enjoy working with clients and their ideas.
