Artists' Cooperative Gallery

The Artists' Co-op is a non-profit, tax-exempt gallery, located in Omaha’s historic Old Market area. They strive for personal artistic growth and professionalism in presentation and are dedicated to exhibiting quality art on a year-round basis. The co-op is an artist run gallery. Artists volunteer time to staff the gallery and operate all aspects of the business. There are no gallery commissions. Sales go directly to the artist. The Co-op also offer the unique opportunity for you to actually meet the creator of the art, because the person at the desk is one of the artists.
Artist run galleries are a great place to make a purchase with investment potential. The artist is allowed the spontaneity to show exciting new work and the freedom to price at their own discretion. It’s fair game to check the artist’s resume before you purchase. This will show you the artist’s professional accomplishments and help you feel comfortable with a purchase.

In the Omaha area and more specifically the downtown area the arts community is growing. Each and every year there are an increasing number of new artists coming here and they add to the area's collective creative mind. Where their artwork is displayed may vary from artist to artist, from exhibits in a successful gallery with pristine white walls or a friend's cinder block basement, these artists are all carving out their own piece of the community and in turn, helping this all progress into a community that truly respects and embraces the arts. The 2011 exhibition, The Science Fair, will be a celebration of this.
saw fit. By being able to decorate the space with their art and other personal touches this gives those who attend a personal view into the artists world. Visitors to The Science Fair will be treated to a visual and sonic feast ranging from a single work of art hanging in a unit to full solo exhibitions, massive installations, site specific performance pieces and sets from local bands as they wander the maze of units.
