Beat Big Banks with the Pinpoint Card

.

Businesses both small and large have little or no choice in this day and age when it comes to accepting debit or credit cards.  Some of those businesses have began to cringe every time they see a certain card pulled out for payment.  Why you ask?  It is because of the outrageous fees that are associated with the cards.

As a consumer you don’t see those fees on your credit or debit card, or at least not yet, but business owners see and have to deal with those fees daily or monthly.  Simply the business has to pay a flat fee to rent or use a credit/debit card processor and couple that with a per swipe fee depending on the type of card.   AMEX, Visa, MasterCard, Discover all have different swipe fee rates.  To make it really easy to understand that basically for every $100 swiped on a card the business only gets to keep $98 of it.  That may still seem like a lot of revenue to some people but keep in mind there is a ton of overhead that goes into running a business, especially in small businesses every penny counts.

See for yourself how bad it actually can get, some banks are already charging debit card holder $3 a month to have a card.  Whereas in the past banks didn’t have to do that because they were taking the money from the merchant.  With recent government legistlature the amount that banks and debit card companies were allowed to charge upwards towards $0.48 per transaction on a debit card.  Now they can only charge about $0.22 per transaction. The fee being cut in half definitely helps the business taking the card but the money hungry banks are now trying to figure out a way to get that lost revenue back.  The banks are going to get it back from you for charging you to have a debit card!!

Don’t believe what we have to say see what else is out there in regards to this situation.

One way you can beat the debit card and credit card processing fees, while making sure your favorite local businesses do not have to incur any additional fees is to use your PinPoint Card.  The PinPoint Card is 100% free to use no fees, no swipe fees to the  business, no additional fees to any PERIOD!!  The PinPoint Card is pin protected just like your debit card, and is tied to your checking account just like your debit card, but it is not a debit card.  The PinPoint Card in fact is an ACH card, which is exactly how online bill pay is set up.  It works just like a check but is in a card form, you don’t have to worry about writing out the check and businesses don’t have to pay the debit/credit card fees.  PLUS with PinPoint you actually save anywhere from 10% to 25% on purchases when you use the card!!!

See if you WON!!!

List of WINNERS are at the bottom!!!

We here at Expedoodle believe strongly in helping businesses in Omaha that are locally owned and operated.  As a result we have teamed up with the PinPoint Card to help tell all of Omaha about this amazing card.  The PinPoint card offers discounts, rewards, and other perks at businesses that are locally owned and opertated.

Everyone by now has probably heard of the Baker’s Card or other various discount card programs offered by the Big Chain stores that have a presence here in Omaha.  The ability of these bigger chain stores to offer discounts using a saver card is because they are so big they can afford to do so.  Small locally owned businesses only dreamed of having a discount and reward program for their customers, but couldn’t because it is too costly to run a program like that.  Now with the PinPoint Card at their disposal they can.  They can offer discounts on every purchase, have their customers build and redeem reward points just like big business does.

By now you may be asking how are they able to do this with the PinPoint Card, and still have the card be free for users?  They can do this because if you use the PinPoint Card the merchant does not have to pay credit card processing fees.  One of the biggest things that plagues small business is the high charges they have to pay every time someone uses a credit or debit card, but with the PinPoint card they do not incur those costs.  Since they are able to save money, they are able to pass the savings on to PinPoint Card holders in terms of discounts and rewards.

Wouldn’t you rather Shop Local, Buy Local and Save Local rather than giving money to huge companies that don’t really care if you ever walk through the door again?  The thing about small business is that over time you can develop a relationship with the employees and workers there, to the point where they call you by name. Now isn't truly something special?

Check out how the Pinpoint Card compares to other discount/reward programs from the Big Chain stores.

My Experience with the Pinpoint Card!!

Why I love my Pinpoint Card!!

Over the past several weeks we here at Expedoodle have told you about this amazing discount card called the Pinpoint Card.  We have told you about the great discounts you receive from Omaha area businesses not to mention the ability to earn rewards as well.  The one thing that we haven’t told you about was our own experiences in using the Pinpoint Card.

Allow me to introduce myself to you all, I am Matt Briggs and I am one of the writers for Expedoodle.com.  I registered and received my Pinpoint card in the mail back in May.  One of the biggest reasons why I got the Pinpoint card was the fact that it was FREE and I would get discounts at one of my wife’s favorite restaurants, La Mesa.  When I received my Pinpoint Card I also got a welcome packet filled with nearly a $1000 worth of coupons to Pinpoint Merchants.  I tried for the whole month of May to get my wife to go to La Mesa so we can use our Pinpoint Card.  She was a little bit hesitant about the Pinpoint Card at first, primarily because we did have to link it to our checking account.  However, finally in early June she cracked and gave in and agreed to use it.

We of course went to La Mesa, and told the waitress when we sat down that we would be using the Pinpoint Card.  Right away she asked if we would be using the coupon (member perk) or if we wanted our free queso dip (discount perk).  We opted to use our coupon on that trip; because it was the first time we had used it and wanted to see how it all worked.  The waitress and manager were both very knowledgeable when it came to using the Pinpoint Card and offered advice and walked us through the process at the end.  Our total bill was just about $26 and subtract the $20 discount coupon; our total for 2 meals and a few drinks was a whopping 5 bucks and change.  The manager then brought out this little card processor.  It looks just like every other handheld credit/debit card processor out there but slightly different.  The manager hands it over to me and tells me to put my pin in go through the process and just leave it on the table when I am done.  I put my Pinpoint Card pin number in, just like you would a debit card, and it brings me to total screen.  From there I chose the option to add on a tip for our very knowledgeable waitress.  Of course the process calculates the tip on the total bill, which was just five dollars.  I felt bad leaving the waitress a $1.26 tip, so I selected the “other” option to leave a little bit bigger tip.  Then that was basically it, as soon as I Ok’d the total with tip, the hand held processor printed out a few copies of the receipt and it was over. My first experience using the Pinpoint card went over without a hitch and received a great filling meal for roughly 10 dollars including tip.  Not too bad I must say.

After that awesome experience with the Pinpoint Card, my reluctant wife pulled a complete 180 and would select our date night restaurant based upon whether or not they took the Pinpoint Card.  Our next experience using the Pinpoint Card was at the Varsity.  We used another one of our coupons we received in our welcome packet.  This time the coupon was for one entrée with the purchase of another at regular price.  We chose to get two large pizzas so we would have leftovers.  This time our bill was a little bit higher closer to around $40, but once they took our free pizza off the bill was just a shade under $20. Still not too shabby on a dinner for us and another couple.

The Pinpoint Card is not just about offering discounts at restaurants but on other purchases as well.  The Pinpoint Card recently added VIP Carwash as a merchant.  Although VIP Carwash is not 100% live yet they are still offering a discount at the gas pump.  I do drive a little bit of a gas guzzler, so with gas prices they way they are I try  to find the best gas prices around even if that means driving a little bit out of the way.   Since I have been taking advantage of the $.05 off per gallon of gas at VIP Carwash I have saved quite a bit of coin, not to mention the fact that it doesn’t make me cry as bad as filling up at other gas stations.

In using the Pinpoint card at various places all over Omaha I have seen firsthand the discounts that pile up.  Given the fact that you get all of these great discounts, rewards, and don’t have to pay anything for the card makes it that much better.  Yes the Pinpoint Card is 100% FREE, plus you get refunded the Omaha Restaurant Tax.  So in essence they are paying you to have the card!!  It seems like a no brainer to me, but everyone is a little hesitant about good things because they seem too good to be true.  Rest assured this one is different and once you get your card and use it once you won’t be able to stop and all your fears will be put aside.

Those are just a few of my stories in using the Pinpoint Card; you have your own I am sure.  Please feel free to share your own story below.

The Pinpoint Card Does it Better!!

Winner listed below...

How many different cards do you have in your wallet?  For most people the answer to that question is about 5 to 7 different credit or payment cards.  The mix usually goes something like this one or two debit cards for checking accounts, two or three different credit cards, and two or three store specific cards.  Generally every card you have in your wallet or purse is basically a credit card even if it is store specific, they ask for your social security number, send you a monthly bill, you pay it and that’s the end of  it.  A few cards out there offer rewards such as cash back and frequent flier miles, those types of rewards never seem to be worth the hassle of actually using them though and not to mention the difficulty of actually using the rewards.  However luckily there are some cards out there that offer discounts on purchases if you use them.  Some of the biggest names out there have a discount payment card program.  Those big brand names include Shell Gas Station, Nordstrom's, and Target.

The Nordstrom MOD Card , the Shell Saver Card, and the Target Red Card, all work basically about the same.  All three are tied to your checking account, and you receive discounts or reward points each time you use the card at each respective location.  The payment for purchase is processed as an ACH Debit to your checking account.  ACH transactions happen every day to your checking account, whether that is a direct deposit from your employer, or payment for a bill. Using either the Nordstum, Shell, or Target cards you are authorizing a onetime ACH Transaction for the amount of what you purchased.  Pretty simple, no longer having to worry about a monthly credit card bill plus you get a discount or reward just for using it.

The PinPoint Card works EXACTLY like the Nordstrum MOD Card, the Shell Saver Card, and The Target Red Card.  All four cards are tied to your checking account for payment purposes.  The PinPoint Card is the only one that takes it a step farther and makes it truly beneficial for you as a consumer, to have this FREE CARD .  Big discounts, simple rewards, and the ability to use the card at multiple different locations such as restaurants, gas stations, and stoes.  Look below to see for yourself!!
